Day 12

Today is about self-control. #PrincipleOne: Reflect upon your life, the world, and your place in it to attain mastery of self. Of all the things in your life, you have the most control over your own choices. You have the power to decide whether to do something, and most importantly whether or not to think something. Your thoughts have power, and the thoughts you choose to create have power over you. So, choose wisely and practice self-restraint. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility.

“Except our own thoughts, there is nothing absolutely in our power.” ~René Descartes

Journal Activity:

Are there any vices you have that you find difficult to let go? Write them down in your journal, and think about how these things have control over you. Do you think you could give up one or two of your vices, even for a brief period of time? Try to “fast” from one of your vices (maybe Facebook, maybe cigarrettes, maybe soap operas…) for a week. Try two weeks. See how long you can control your giving in to your cravings.
